Rotating sorting grab for Volvo ECR88D
The Volvo ECR88D is a short-tail midi excavator with an operating weight of 8.75–9.38 t, inside the Promove SG 6.11 class (6–11 t). With the sorting grab it becomes a sorting and loading machine for recycling yards, strip-out work and timber or stone handling.
The SG 6.11 needs two separate circuits: one for opening and closing (30–40 l/min, max. 300 bar) and a small one for rotation (10–15 l/min, max. 150 bar). According to Volvo, the ECR88D offers a double-acting X1 circuit with 68 l/min and a circuit for tilt or rotating attachments with 28 l/min. Both deliver more than the grab needs, so flow, and on the rotation circuit also pressure, must be limited.

- 12-month warranty from the date of delivery, in line with the manufacturer's warranty terms. Claims are handled through Thunderline. Wear parts (chisels, points, hoses) and damage from misuse, incorrect installation or operation outside the manufacturer's limits are not covered. Full terms on request.
- Delivery DAP to your address in the EU. Delivery to your business address; unloading by the customer (forklift). A tail lift is not included by default – available on request at an extra charge, quoted per order. Availability is confirmed within 1–2 business days. Delivery typically takes 4–10 working days after order confirmation and payment, depending on availability and destination; the exact delivery window is confirmed per order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the grab need two circuits?
One circuit moves the shells, the second rotates the grab, so you do not have to switch between opening/closing and rotating.
What happens if the rotation circuit delivers too much oil?
The grab rotates too fast and the rotation drive is overloaded. Promove limits rotation to 10–15 l/min and 150 bar. These values must be set on the ECR88D or limited with valves.
Is a quick coupler included?
No. You receive the grab with top plate and hydraulic hoses. Quick coupler, adapter plate and adapters are not included. For the SG 6.11, any quick coupler or mount is to be confirmed with the manufacturer before we quote.
