Crusher bucket for 7.5–13 t excavators: Italdem GF 10

Do you run an excavator of 7.5 to 13 tonnes and want to crush stone or concrete right where you work? Then a crusher bucket for a 10 t excavator is a simple way to do it. This guide explains what a crusher bucket does, which Italdem model suits this weight class, and what we need from you to send a quote.

What a crusher bucket does

A crusher bucket looks like a normal bucket, but inside it has a moving jaw. You scoop up material, lift the bucket and start the jaw. It breaks the material, and the smaller pieces fall out at the bottom. You do not need a separate crusher on site.

You can use the crushed material straight away as fill on the same job, or load it and take it to another site. This cuts down on truck trips and on new material you would otherwise buy. Italdem says its GF crusher buckets can handle stone, concrete, asphalt, and waste from demolition and quarries.

The model for 7.5–13 t: Italdem GF 10

The Italdem GF 10 crusher bucket is made for excavators from 7.5 to 13 t. The key facts from Italdem:

  • Excavator weight: 7.5–13 t
  • Weight of the bucket: 1200 kg
  • Opening at the top: 590 × 370 mm
  • Size of the crushed pieces: about 30–130 mm
  • Runs on the same oil line as a hydraulic hammer
  • Jaw and teeth made of hard-wearing manganese steel

If your excavator already works with a hydraulic hammer, it already has the oil line that the GF 10 uses. If not, tell us, and we take it into account in your quote.

Typical jobs for the GF 10

  • Demolition and renovation: crush concrete rubble and reuse it on site.
  • Road and yard work: break up old asphalt and pieces of concrete.
  • Earthworks: crush stones you dig out and use them as fill.
  • Recycling yards: make demolition waste smaller before it is moved on.

Excavator at the top of the range? Look at the GF 20

The GF 10 covers machines up to 13 t. For excavators from 13 to 18 t, Italdem makes the Italdem GF 20 crusher bucket. It weighs 1900 kg, has a 600 × 500 mm opening and breaks material into pieces of about 30–150 mm. If your machine is close to 13 t, send us the model and we tell you which of the two makes more sense. You can see all models on our crusher buckets page.

Crusher bucket or screening bucket?

A crusher bucket makes pieces smaller. A screening bucket sorts material by size, for example soil from stones. For the same weight class, Italdem offers the GV 800 screening bucket for 7–13 t excavators.
